Monday Memo – Special Announcement

Bishops Public Statements

Re-opening of the Churches:

With the Ontario Government announcing that the province will enter STEP ONE of the reopening plan on Friday, June 11, 2021, this means that our Churches can again be open to our parishioners with  a 15% capacity for Mass.

Please note that all Covid-19 protocols are still in place for this reopening.  Masks must be worn, social distancing is required, no singing by the congregation, no socializing outside without distancing.  Please use the hand sanitation bottles at the doors of the church.   Communion is only in the hand – and ministers must wear masks when distributing Holy Communion.  There is still no children’s liturgy allowed at this time.

Parishioners who still feel uncomfortable about attending Mass at this time are asked to follow Mass virtually (www.dotb.ca) each week with Bishop Colli or their parish live-streaming Mass.

As more people are vaccinated and more re-openings happen in the province, we will have a greater capacity for our churches in the next steps, Thank you for your patience and understanding, we hope to see you soon back in our parishes for Mass.

Sincerely
Bishop Fred Colli
