It is with great pleasure that we announce to the diocese that Reverend Douglas McClure, a former Anglican priest and a convert to Catholicism, who is a member of St. Patrick’s Cathedral parish, has been given permission by Pope Francis to be ordained as a Catholic priest.
The ordination to his diaconate will take place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 7 pm. (new date) His ordination to the priesthood will take place also at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2 pm. All priests and deacons and their wives, are invited to these celebrations along with Ministers of Service, and our parish communities. The diocese is grateful to Pope Francis in granting Rev. Doug McClure this permission and we rejoice by having another priest in our diocese. Rev. Doug will be recognized as a retired fill-in priest to assist us. Once again, we are pleased with this announcement and I ask that you keep Rev. Doug and his family in your prayers and thoughts.
