Bill C-14 10th Year Anniversary
OTTAWA — The Standing Committee for Family and Life of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB), with authorization from the Permanent Council, has issued a statement marking the 10th anniversary of Bill C-14, the legislation that legalized euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada under the term “Medical Assistance in Dying” (“MAID”) on 17 June, 2016.
ENCYCLICAL LETTER MAGNIFICA HUMANITAS
Pope Leo XIV’s Encyclical Letter, Magnifica Humanitas, was released today. It focuses on safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence. The letter is dated 15 May, to commemorate the 135th anniversary of Pope Leo XIII’s Encyclical Letter, Rerum Novarum.
